Privacy

What we store

• Your account: name, username, email, and a securely hashed password (we can never read it). Optionally a profile photo and bio you add yourself.
• Your activity: the films you log, ratings, reviews, watchlist, lists, comments, likes, who you follow, and your language and privacy preferences.
• If you enable notifications: a push subscription token from your browser, so we can send the alerts you asked for.

Cookies

We only use essential cookies — the ones that keep you logged in and protect forms from cross-site attacks. That's it. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no analytics profiling. Because we don't track you across the web, there's nothing to opt out of beyond simply logging out.

Who else is involved

• TMDB — film and TV data and poster images come from The Movie Database. When posters load, your browser talks to TMDB directly, so they may see your IP address. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
• Google — only if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in. We receive your name, email and profile picture; nothing else.
• Your browser's push service (e.g. Apple, Google or Mozilla) — only if you turn on notifications.
• Our host keeps the servers running.

We never sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. This is a passion project, not an ad business.

Your controls

• Make your whole account private, or lock individual diary entries, from Settings.
• Edit or delete any review, rating or list at any time.
• Delete your account from Settings — this removes your profile and personal content for good.
• Block anyone whose posts you'd rather not see.

Kids

Movie Manners isn't intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Please don't sign up if you're younger than that.
